Itinerary Files

On this page, I will post the various itinerary files that I used to plan my trips.

Please keep in mind that these itineraries were created BEFORE the trip, and they were mostly just guidelines to follow while on the trip. In fact, many times I had to completely abandon an itinerary for a time because a restaurant was unexpectedly closed, or we had too much/too little time allotted for that day’s activities. For comparison’s sake, you can follow the blog posts to see what actually happened on each day of the trips vs. the original plan.

I seriously thought about not including these at all because the actual way things played out was often very different (especially restaurants), but I think they may be helpful for some. I must also note that we are the “busy” type of traveler, and we move quickly. The most important thing to remember is to go at your own pace, and the rest will all work out.

    Hello JD and Megan,
We just followed you on twitter and found this very interesting itinerary. Honestly, I’m really impressed by the details you put down. How was your trip in France-Belgium after all? I saw you have a post about biking there, pretty cool.

I am writing to let you know that we would love to invite you to our exclusive LeafCanoe pre-launch tryout, as we understand that a savvy traveler and writer like you dives to get the best out while on the road.

So,what is LeafCanoe exactly? LeafCanoe is a upcoming iPhone app that lets you put thoughts and pictures into a fully integrated GPS mapping journal-you can drop your own pins for points of interest or let LeafCanoe drop pins exactly where you took your iPhone shots! Through sleek diary-like posts, you can create a very informative post that your audience can easily follow on the road. We plan to release the LeafCanoe app to the Apple Store in January, 2015. If this is something that interests you, just drop me a note at djhuang[at]leafcanoe.com to get more details about being involved in our launch, or tweet us at @GoLeafCanoe
